About Rob and Joe Jones

Rob Jones

A native of Blacksburg, Rob graduated from Virginia Tech in 1994 with a major in business management and a minor in real estate property management. For 11 years, he owned and managed a successful business, TCBY Yogurt, located on North Main Street in Blacksburg. In addition, he pursued many real estate interests including ownership of commercial property, single-family rental property, and a multi-unit apartment.

This past year, Rob developed Sterling Manor, a 25-lot subdivision on Prices Fork Road with his father, Joe Jones who is the General Manager of Prudential Radford and Associates, REALTORS/Raines NRV Division, and the former owner of Raines Real Estate, Inc.

An avid Hokie fan and member of the Hokie Club, Rob is also an outdoor enthusiast and a banjo picker. Rob and his wife, Karen, who teaches the 6th grade at Blacksburg Middle School, have a young daughter, Alison.

Joe Jones

Joe graduated from Virginia Tech in 1965 with a degree in Business. After graduation he was commissioned second leiutenant in United State Air Force and attended pilot and jet training before serving as an F-4 pilot. He returned to Tech in 1971 for post-graduate studies in Forestry Management.

Joe began his career in Real Estate in the early 70s. He served on the Blacksburg Planning Commission for 17 years. He has been President of the New River Valley Board of Realtors for two terms and won 1991 Realtor of the Year and in 1998 the Code of Ethics Award. Joe lives in Blacksburg with his wife of 39 years. He has three grown children and three "wonderful" grandchildren.

Past President of NRVAR (1981 and 1997) Blacksburg Planning Commission, 17 years Real Estate Course Instructor Licensed Auctioneer Virginia Association of Realtors Honor Society Broker Hall of Fame - 2000 Realtor of the Year, 1991 New River Valley Code of Ethics Award, 1998 Top 5% in Sales and Listings, New River Valley.
